To strengthen campus fire safety, promote awareness, and enhance emergency response and self-rescue capabilities among faculty and students, Sias University held its Second Fire Safety Games on March 20 at Moscow Square on campus under the theme “Prevent Risks Together, Safeguard Safety as One.” University leaders attended the opening ceremony alongside Huang Yazhe, Head of the Xinzheng Fire and Rescue Brigade, and Wang Longyang, Director of the Xinyan Street Police Station. More than 2,000 representatives from residential colleges, including faculty and students, participated in the event.

University leadership emphasized that fire safety is a central priority in campus security and highlighted the university’s long-standing commitment to integrating theoretical instruction with practical drills. The event was described as an important initiative to deepen fire safety education. Three key expectations were outlined: strengthening awareness of fire safety, improving practical emergency response skills, and reinforcing shared responsibility for maintaining a safe campus environment.

The Fire Safety Games combined theoretical knowledge with hands-on competition, covering areas such as fire safety regulations, fire prevention, initial fire suppression, evacuation and escape techniques, and the proper use of firefighting equipment. These activities not only reinforced participants’ theoretical understanding but also enhanced their practical skills. The competitions were conducted in an orderly manner, with participants demonstrating strong teamwork, standardized procedures, and solid technical proficiency.

This event provided a valuable platform for learning, practice, and showcasing skills, effectively improving the overall level of campus fire safety management. Moving forward, Sias University will build on this initiative by further strengthening fire safety education, regularly conducting emergency drills, and continuously improving safety practices to protect the lives and property of all members of the university community.
