On the afternoon of April 15, Sias University officially held the inauguration ceremony and first lecture for the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Class (Phase I) at the Experimental Teaching Center. Dr. Shawn Chen, Founder and Chairman of the Board, attended the event. Representatives from the Office of Information Technology Development and Management, the Academic Affairs Office, the program leadership team, and all faculty and students of the first cohort were present. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Zhao Yuxin.

At the ceremony, Zhao Yuxin announced the list of selected students and presented a comprehensive data profile of the cohort, showcasing their academic backgrounds, learning and practical experience, and development potential.

In his address, Dr. Shawn Chen congratulated the selected participants and emphasized that the launch of the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Class marks a milestone in the university’s development. He noted that the university will continue advancing the “AI+X” reform and provide strong support for the program. He encouraged all participants to seize this opportunity, actively explore cutting-edge fields, strengthen their capabilities, and pursue innovation, growing into exemplary contributors to the university’s talent cultivation reform.

During the session on real-world project release, class director Dr. Xiao Fujun outlined the program’s dual-driven training model, which integrates theoretical learning with real-world project practice. He introduced the thematic categories and core value of the collected projects, helping participants better understand the program’s instructional design and practice-oriented approach.

Faculty representative Zhang Yi from the School of International Education and student representative Feng Jingwen, a 2024 Communication Engineering major, shared their motivations and expectations for joining the program. They expressed appreciation for the university’s AI learning platform and their commitment to engaging in educational innovation and improving through hands-on practice.

In the first lecture, Dr. Tong Jiarui, Chair of the IEEE Artificial Intelligence Standards Committee and course instructor, delivered a keynote on “Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Innovation.” He elaborated on the core理念 of “AI+X” and its educational paradigm, and systematically explained the challenge-driven learning structure, target competencies, and outcome-oriented design of the Vibe Coding course. His lecture helped participants gain a clear understanding of the curriculum, learning methods, and pathways to achieving outcomes.

During the interactive session, faculty and students engaged in discussions on topics such as “Why I joined the program,” “What I hope to gain,” and “Core class culture and shared values.” Participants transitioned from being selected candidates to active contributors and co-builders of the program.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Xiao Fujun stated that as a key initiative in the university’s AI-era talent cultivation reform, the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Class will continue to advance through AI learning, real-world project practice, and outcome-driven development. The program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with strong AI literacy, system design capabilities, and real-world problem-solving skills.
