On February 25, Vice President Zhao Yuxin visited the School of Economics and Management to conduct a focused review of the new semester’s work. The visit centered on key priorities such as discipline and program development, master’s degree program construction, and the integration and deeper application of AI in education. The aim was to chart a clear course and strategic plan for the school’s high-quality development. Members of the school’s leadership team and faculty representatives attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Dean Wang Longtian delivered a comprehensive report, detailing internal developments such as the optimization and restructuring of departments and staff assignments. He also outlined key tasks for the new semester, including teaching operations, thesis supervision, and the organization and implementation of student internships and practical training. Heads of departments then spoke in turn, presenting their ideas for program development and their main tasks for the semester.

Zhao Yuxin affirmed the school’s preparations for the new semester and offered guiding recommendations in light of broader development trends and the school’s specific context. First, he emphasized the need to deepen the integration of AI with teaching and learning. Faculty members should take the lead in enhancing their digital literacy and focus on cultivating students’ ability to use AI to solve real-world problems, as well as their innovative and critical thinking skills—building a core competitiveness in addressing questions that AI cannot answer. Second, he called for advancing reforms in talent cultivation programs, urging department heads to take the lead in conducting in-depth industry research and to explore effective pathways for integrating traditional disciplines with digitalization and intelligent technologies, thereby driving program transformation and upgrading. Third, he stressed the importance of strengthening research and discipline development, encouraging faculty to produce more high-level research outcomes to support the establishment of master’s programs and applications for key disciplines, and to comprehensively enhance the school’s academic standing and core competitiveness.

In his concluding remarks, Wang Longtian stated that the school would promptly review its task list, refine implementation measures, and reinforce accountability. He emphasized the commitment to solid teaching management, effective internship and practical training programs, deeper AI-enabled education, and stronger research efforts. With a pragmatic approach, the school aims to elevate all aspects of its work to a new level and contribute to the university’s high-quality development.
