To thoroughly advance education on establishing and practicing a correct view of political performance, strengthen the ideological foundation of the cadre team, and guide all university leaders to firmly establish a pragmatic and results-oriented working approach while improving their professional capabilities, our university held a thematic lecture on June 17 in the banquet hall on the first floor of the Administration Building.

Professor Kong Guoqing, Party Secretary of Anyang Normal University, was specially invited to deliver the lecture. Members of the university leadership team and all middle-level administrators attended the session in person. The lecture was chaired by Party Secretary Niu Xiaoyu.

Lecture by Professor Kong Guoqing, Party Secretary of Anyang Normal University

Professor Kong Guoqing delivered a lecture titled “Be Talents with Virtue, Thinking, Ability, and Responsibility — On the Cadre Philosophy in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.” The lecture focused on the three key dimensions of cadre development: virtue, thinking, and ability.

In terms of moral cultivation, combining traditional governance ideas with the standards for good cadres in the new era, he emphasized that cadres should remain true to their original aspiration, serve the people, act with responsibility and practical spirit, and respect their duties while rejecting bureaucratic formalism.

In terms of working thinking, he analyzed six dimensions—focusing on overall priorities, strategic planning, leadership team building, practical implementation, exemplary leadership, and humanistic care—drawing on examples from university development to explain scientific approaches to managing higher education.

In terms of comprehensive ability, he explained eight core competencies: learning ability, leadership, reflection, innovation, cohesion, willpower, crisis handling ability, and communication skills. Guided by the dialectical framework of “principle, method, and practice,” he connected theory with practice, making the lecture both theoretically rich and closely aligned with university management realities.

In his concluding remarks, Niu Xiaoyu stated that Professor Kong Guoqing’s report demonstrated a strong theoretical foundation and provided accurate and in-depth interpretations. The lecture closely addressed the core requirements of establishing a correct view of political performance and the practical responsibilities of university cadres. It offered clear guidance across all dimensions of cadre development, including self-cultivation, strategic planning, and performance of duties, and was both ideologically insightful and practically applicable.

He further required all participants to carefully study and deeply understand the core content of the lecture after the session, and to actively transform the learning outcomes into practical measures that promote the university’s education, talent cultivation, and reform and development. He emphasized the need to continuously broaden working perspectives, improve professional competence, and advance the university’s high-quality, connotative development.
