June 29, 2026 Editor:ELLY

On the afternoon of June 25, our university held a mobilization meeting on the construction of a master’s degree-granting unit in the banquet hall on the first floor of the Administration Building. The meeting was attended by Dr. Shawn chen, founder and chairman of the university, members of the university leadership team, and all middle-level administrators. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yuan Guanglin.

Dr. Shawn  Chen  delivered a mobilization speech on the master’s degree application campaign. He gave a comprehensive review of the progress achieved since the launch of the initiative, and made an objective assessment of current shortcomings in light of the evaluation standards for master’s degree-granting institutions. He pointed out key gaps in several core indicators, including the reserve of doctoral-qualified faculty, student–faculty ratio, per-student educational funding, and per-faculty research funding.

He emphasized that the master’s degree application campaign is a core strategic project for strengthening the university’s internal development and overall academic strength. He called for coordinated, university-wide efforts, effective allocation of resources, clear assignment of responsibilities at all levels, and a task-tracking mechanism to address each identified weakness. He stated that all key indicators must meet requirements by the end of 2028, with the goal of successfully obtaining master’s degree-granting authorization in 2029, achieving a historic upgrade in the university’s academic level.

Vice President Yuan Guanglin noted that improving conditions for master’s degree authorization represents a major opportunity for the high-quality development of private universities. He also highlighted the strong investment and rapid progress of peer institutions within the province, emphasizing the increasingly competitive environment. He stated that the next two years are a critical window for breakthrough progress and called on all staff to adopt a “second entrepreneurship” mindset, concentrate efforts, and fully commit to achieving the goal.

The meeting clarified the key tasks for the master’s degree application campaign and reinforced responsibility across all departments. It helped all cadres fully recognize the significance and urgency of the initiative and further unified thinking and strengthened collective effort. Heads of functional departments and academic units expressed their commitment to actively engage in the process, overcome challenges, and fully support the successful completion of the master’s degree-granting unit construction project.
