SIAS University Holds Meeting on International Research Collaboration

On the afternoon of July 8, SIAS University held a meeting on international research collaboration in the conference room on the seventh floor of the Administrative Building. Executive Vice President Wu Hua and Vice President Yuan Guanglin attended the meeting. Representatives from relevant administrative departments and heads of various schools and colleges also participated. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Yuan Guanglin.

Vice President Yuan Guanglin outlined plans for the university’s international research initiatives. He emphasized that internationalization is a key feature of SIAS University’s development. He noted that international research collaboration should focus on six major areas: research achievements, joint research projects, the establishment of international joint laboratories, international exchange of scholars and talents, hosting international academic conferences, and joint training of international graduate students. He encouraged each school and college to effectively connect its disciplinary strengths with the university’s international research resources to promote high-quality international cooperation.

During the meeting, Yue Junliang, Director of the Office of International Exchange, provided a detailed introduction to the university’s existing international research collaboration resources, offering strong support for schools and colleges to expand global partnerships. Representatives from various academic units shared practical strategies and initiatives for advancing international research cooperation based on their disciplinary strengths and research priorities.

In his concluding remarks, Executive Vice President Wu Hua put forward specific requirements for the university’s future international research collaboration. He stressed that these efforts should align closely with the key tasks of the university’s 15th Five-Year Development Plan and the core goals of its application for master’s degree authorization. He called on the Office of International Exchange and the Office of Research Affairs to strengthen strategic planning, refine implementation plans, coordinate development efforts, and pursue distinctive growth. By integrating internationalization with research development, the university aims to achieve mutual advancement and inject strong momentum into its academic development and high-quality growth.
