On the afternoon of July 22, the university held a meeting to advance the development of master’s degree authorization programs in Conference Room 201 of Teaching Building T01. Vice President Yuan Guanglin attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Representatives from the Academic Affairs Department, Research Office, heads of each degree authorization program, and specialists responsible for master’s degree application preparation participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the heads of each degree authorization program reported on the progress of construction efforts during the current semester. Focusing on areas such as research funding, research projects and achievements, and faculty development, they identified existing challenges, analyzed the causes of these issues, and presented follow-up improvement measures and action plans based on the actual conditions of each program.

Vice President Yuan Guanglin recognized the achievements made during the university’s current stage of master’s degree application preparation. He provided an objective analysis of the current development situation and put forward the “Four Highs” requirements: high standards, high level, high quality, and high-level development. He emphasized that all departments should align themselves with evaluation criteria at high standards, address weaknesses, build distinctive advantages for degree programs, focus on key construction tasks, and ensure high-quality implementation of all initiatives. He also stressed the importance of a problem-oriented approach, establishing improvement records, completing tasks one by one, strengthening coordination among departments, and consolidating efforts to achieve success in the master’s degree application process.

Based on the key evaluation indicators for master’s degree authorization, Vice President Yuan Guanglin made detailed arrangements for the university’s major tasks and assigned responsibilities for each construction target. Regarding research funding, he set annual goals for both external and internal research funding development, encouraging each degree program to expand funding sources and optimize funding structures. In terms of research project development, he called for stronger efforts in cultivating and applying for various research projects, while continuously increasing the number and proportion of high-level research projects.

In academic development, the university will continue to deepen educational reform, focus on identifying, cultivating, and applying for various teaching achievement awards, and develop high-quality teaching outcomes. For faculty development, the university will further standardize the selection, training, and management of part-time master’s supervisors, while continuously improving the overall structure of the supervisor team. Regarding the reserve of high-level faculty members, the university will establish quantitative goals for recruiting doctoral-level talent and address weaknesses in faculty development to provide strong talent support for degree program construction.

This meeting further clarified the key priorities for the master’s degree application process and strengthened work responsibilities, laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the university’s master’s degree authorization programs. Moving forward, relevant departments will closely follow the meeting’s arrangements, focus on key evaluation indicators, address shortcomings, strengthen advantages, and fully promote the implementation of all master’s degree application tasks in a detailed and effective manner.
